Lots of fun novelty eggcups here, based on animals and vehicles. On of my buyers bought a frog for her little boy to encourage him to eat eggs, and now he won't eat any meal unless Froggy is on the plate. Others use them for their scented/votive candles.
I sometimes get Americans asking me what eggcups are for. Here in the UK we eat soft-boiled eggs from the shell, usually for breakfast but also as a snack or as an easily-digestible food for invalids (everyone has their own way of boiling them, mine is to put them into enough cold water to cover the egg(s), bring to the boil, boil for one minute then eat). The eggcup is to hold the egg during eating. The bottom (pointed end) of the egg is put into the eggcup and the top (round end) is smashed with a small spoon and peeled away. Salt and pepper is sprinkled on to taste. Usually served with soldiers ie toasted bread lavishly buttered and cut into fingers, which are dunked into the open egg. Scrumptious. Once the egg is eaten, it's customary to smash the spoon through the bottom of the shell. In Sussex this is held to prevent witches using the whole egg-shells for sailing over flowing water.
