Payment Methods, Terms and Conditions

Payment Methods

For all buyers I accept debit and credit cards either by phone or via the website, cheques and bank transfers drawn on UK banks, uncrossed UK Postal Orders, cash, paypal and nochex. I do not normally send to addresses other than those registered on paypal or with the debit/credit card company. If you wish me to do this, you must contact me before buying to agree it with me first.

On-line debit and credit card transactions are handled by SagePay (look here for information about SagePay) so if you choose this method you will go to a SagePay screen telling you that they are handling it on my behalf, and telling you how to continue; alternatively you can ring me on 01227-462886 to do a telephone transaction if you prefer. Please note that SagePay was until recently known as ProtX.

For added security, an increasing number of card-providers require 3D Secure (look here for information about 3D-Secure), which is the on-line version of Chip'n'Pin. If this is the case for your card-provider, you will get a window part-way through the checkout process asking you to create a userid and password on the first occasion when you try to use a 3D-Secure enabled site; this is managed by your bank or other card-provider, and if you back out at this point, thinking it's a scam, you may later get a call from your bank to reassure you. Once you've created a userid and password, on subsequent occasions that you buy from a 3D-Secure enabled site, you will just be asked to key in the details as part of the checkout process. At no stage do I know your security details. MasterCard calls this SecureCode and Visa calls it Verify by Visa.

Despatch Times

I aim to send most purchases within one working day (ie Mon-Fri) of receiving cleared payment. Only under exceptional circumstances will I post items before payment has been received/cleared, and then only for customers with whom I have dealt successfully before.

If you require Special Delivery, please ensure that payment reaches me by 1230 at the latest, to give me time to process your order in time to be ready for my postal collection.

Within the UK, I offer a choice of Standard Delivery or Recorded Delivery which normally take approximately two-three working days to arrive, or Special Delivery, which will arrive the next working day. For overseas purchases I use airmail international signed-for as standard, which normally takes approximately one week plus Customs' clearance as appropriate.

Customs Fees, Local Taxes etc.

It is the buyer's responsibility to pay any Customs fees, local taxes etc; I will not falsify information on the Customs' form as this would leave me open to prosecution. If you are in any doubt about Customs and Excise fees or local taxes, please contact your relevant Government department for advice.

If you are unhappy with your purchase

Even in the best regulated businesses, things occasionally go wrong. If you are in any way unhappy with your purchase, please contact me within seven days of receipt so that we can resolve it quickly and amicably.

If the item is damaged or not as described I will first ask you to email me a clear picture and a description of the fault/damage. This is so that I can assess whether or not it's worth asking for its return. If it is, and if I am at fault, I'll then ask you to return the item to me, and will give you an exchange or refund including your return postage.

If you no longer require your purchase for any other reason because you’ve changed your mind, then please return it to me, and I'll refund you the cost of the item but not the original cost of postage, nor the cost of returning it to me. You have a duty of care to keep it in good condition whilst it is in your possession so that I can resell it as new.

You must under all circumstances retain the packaging as it may be required for inspection; this may take several months for the postal executive to process.

If your item is returned to me by the Post Office because you didn't collect it or because you gave me an incorrect address I'll be happy to re-post it on receipt of the cost of doing so.
