A highly-stylised and comic bulldog set of novelty salt and peppers, which reminds me of Bullseye, Bill Sykes's dog in Oliver Twist.

The holes for the shakers are in the eyes, so neither piece is specifically for the salt or the pepper. Each piece is approximately 2.25 inches/6 cms tall.

The white dog is fully glazed, the black dog's white patch is in fact the bisque showing through the black glaze. I've checked with the maker, who tells me that this is correct.
